PANCOPOP at the ECREA Political Communication section conference in Berlin

On 31 August – 1 September, the ECREA Political Communication section held its biennial conference in Berlin, entitled “Navigating the Noise: Effective Communication for Solving Political Problems”. The conference was hosted by the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society and the Institute for media and Communication Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. PANCOPOP project members Dr Václav Štětka, Dr Francisco Brandao and Prof Sabina Mihelj presented three papers at the event, including a paper on government health crisis communication and populism, a paper on the impact of populism and misinformation on public trust in political and expert institutions, and a paper on media use and trust on pandemic misinformation beliefs.
